FIL European Luge Natural Track Championships 1971
The second FIL natural track luge European championship was held from 26 to 28 February 1971 in Vandans in Austria. The Austrian team won both single-seat heritage advertising and eight of nine medals, the Italian team won in doubles.
Single Seater Men
After her triple victory at the first European Championship in the previous year, the Austrian team succeeded this year, a six -fold victory in the men's single-seater. The gold medal winning Anton Obernosterer, who was second in the previous year. Silver went to Gottfried Lexer, who was a year before third parties. The bronze medal won Erwin Eichelberger. Austrian triple victory in the women's single-seater: European Champion was Klara Niedertscheider by a margin of more than 19 seconds for the silver medalist Anne Marie Ebner. The bronze medal won Ruth Oberhöller.
Two-seater
In doubles, the Italians were victorious Siegfried Graber and Joseph Niedermair, which thus won the only medal at the European Championships in Italy. The silver medal went to Anton and Gabriel Obernosterer. Anton Obernosterer was European champion in the prior year Joseph Lexer. Third place went wild Siegfried and Othmar Hofer.
