FIL European Luge Natural Track Championships 1993
The 15th FIL Luge Natural Track Championship took place from 27 to 31 January 1993 at Stein an der Enns in Austria.
Single Seater Men
Date: January 30 (1st and 2.Wertungslauf ) and 31 January 1993 ( 3 championship round )
The Italians Anton Blasbichler was European champion in the men's single-seater. For him, it was the first title and also the first medal at major events. Silver won the Austrian Willi Danklmaier. He had already won several medals at world and European championships. The bronze medal went to the defending champion Franz Obrist of Italy.
Single Seater Ladies
Date: January 30 (1st and 2.Wertungslauf ) and 31 January 1993 ( 3 championship round )
European champion in the women's single seater was the Austrian Irene Zechner. She had finished second at the last European Championship. The silver medal went to the defending champion Doris Haselrieder from Italy. Third place went to Austrian Elvira woodcutter who already was second at the World Championships last year.
Two-seater
Date: January 29, 1993 ( both races )
The reigning world champion Almir Betemps and Corrado Herin from Italy were European champions in doubles. The silver medal won their countrymen Jürgen Pezzi and Christian Hafner. Third place went like four years ago to the Austrians Reinhold Buchmann and Manfred as. The defending champion Krzysztof Neviadomski and Oktawian Samulski from Poland not finish the race.
