Gwinnett County, Georgia

The Gwinnett County is a county located in the state of Georgia in the United States. Administrative office ( County Seat) is Lawrenceville, named after James Lawrence, a U.S. naval officer.

Geography

The County is located in north-central Georgia, is located about 130 km to the west of Alabama, located in the north about 100 miles from Tennessee and North Carolina and the North East about 110 miles from South Carolina. History

Gwinnett County was formed on December 15, 1818 Land of the Creek and the Cherokee County as the 42nd of Georgia. It was named after the Declaration of Independence of Georgia Button Gwinnett, one of the three signatories.
