Hinsdorf is a district of the city in the district of Southern Anhalt Anhalt- Bitterfeld, in Saxony- Anhalt.

Geography

The place Hinsdorf is about 15 kilometers southwest of Dessau and 15 kilometers east of the city of Köthen (Anhalt). The area between the Elbe and Fuhne is very scarcely wooded and is farmed intensively. The Mosigkauer Heath northeast of Hinsdorf is one of the few large contiguous forest areas in the region.

History

Hinsdorf 1401 first documented and can thus look back on over 600 years of history.

Until the formation of the unified community Southern Anhalt on 1 January 2010 Hinsdorf was an independent municipality in the administrative community Southern Anhalt. Last Mayor of Hinsdorf was Hans -Rainer Homann.

Traffic

By Hinsdorf, the road connection from Köthen (Anhalt) to Bitterfeld -Wolfen. Bus routes of public transport lead to Köthen and after Salzfurtkapelle ( district of the city Zoerbig ). The motorway connection Dessau -Süd is about seven kilometers (A 9 Berlin - Munich). The nearest railway station is located in the nine kilometers away Raguhn ( line Leipzig - Dessau ).
