Huron County (Michigan)

Huron County is a county located in the state of Michigan in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat), Bad Axe.

Geography

The County is located in the east of the Lower Peninsula of Michigan, bounded on the west, north and east by Lake Huron, one of the five Great Lakes, and has an area of ​​5533 square kilometers, of which 3367 square miles are water. It is bordered clockwise to the following counties: Sanilac County and Tuscola County.

History

Huron County was formed in 1840 from parts of Salinac County. It was named after Lake Huron, a lake in the area.
