Loup County, Nebraska

Loup County is a county located in the state of Nebraska in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Taylor, who was named after Ed Taylor an early pioneer in this area.

Geography

The County is located north of the geographical center of Nebraska and has an area of ​​1479 square kilometers, of which 3 square miles is water area. It is bordered clockwise to the following counties: Holt County, Garfield County, Custer County, Blaine County, Brown County and Rock County.

History

Loup County was formed in 1883. It was named after an Indian Pawnee, called Loup or after the Loup River.
