York County (Nebraska)

York County is a county located in the state of Nebraska in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is York.

Geography

The County is located in the central south-east of Nebraska, is located in the south about 80 miles from Kansas and has an area of 1492 square kilometers, of which 1 square kilometers of water surface. It is bordered clockwise to the following counties: Seward County, Fillmore County, Hamilton County and Polk County.

History

York County was formed in 1855. It was named in England or the York County in Pennsylvania either by the city of York.
