Monasterace is an Italian town in the province of Reggio Calabria in Calabria with 3429 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012).
Location and data
Monasterace is located 136 km northeast of Reggio Calabria on the eastern slope of the Serre. To place a part of the coastal hamlet on Monasterace Marina. The neighboring municipalities are Guardavalle (CZ) and Stilo.
Attractions
The place is a ruin of a castle from the 16th century.
On the territory of the municipality lies the archaeological area of Caulonia. There are still walls and another of the Greek city. The finds that were found here are exhibited in the Museo Nazionale della Magna Grecia in Reggio Calabria.
