Taurianova
Taurianova is an Italian town in the province of Reggio Calabria in Calabria with 15,365 inhabitants (as of 31 December 2012).
Location and data
Taurianova is 65 km northeast of Reggio Calabria in the plain of Gioia. The neighboring municipalities are Cittanova, Molochio, Oppido Mamertina, Rizziconi, Terranova Sappo Minulio, Varapodio. The place consists of the districts of San Martino di Taurianova, Amato, Pegara, Donna Livia.
The town was founded in 1928 by the union of cities Radicena and Latrinoli. Taurianova is a center for agriculture and industry to the environment. In agriculture, tropical fruits, olives and red wine are produced. Tourism is growing.
Attractions
The Church of the Madonna del Rosario was prepared by the 1783 earthquake again. It has a Baroque portal, inside there are Renaissance sculptures. In the Church of the Immacolata are Mamorstatuen from the late Renaissance.
