Sieneke

Sieneke Peeters ( born April 1, 1992 Nijmegen ) is a Dutch singer.

After Peeters had released an album of cover versions of various songs from the 1980s, in 2007 under the title It's My Dream, she represented her home country in the semifinals of the Euro Vision Song Contest 2010 with the song Ik ben verliefd ( Sha -la- lie), where they finished in 14th place among 17 participants and was eliminated. Although she missed the top ten, they still placed thus better than some later qualifiers who reached the final only because an additional jury vote. It was thus the most successful Dutch contribution since 2004. Moreover, the song placed at number 12 in the Dutch charts. It was the first contribution of the Netherlands, who also reached the first place in their own country.

Nationaal Song Festival

In the preliminary decision, which was first organized by the TROS 2010 occurred at four soloists and a girls group. All sang the contribution Ik ben verliefd ( Sha -La- Lie) in their own version.
