Sinnamary

Sinnamary is a commune with 3165 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the Overseas Territory French Guiana on the Atlantic coast of South America.

Geography

Sinnamary located on the eponymous river Sinnamary near the Atlantic coast in the north of French Guiana, 112 km north- west of Cayenne and 63 km from Kourou. In the north Sinnamary bordered by the Atlantic Ocean, on the east by Kourou, in the south of Saint- Élie and to the west by Iracoubo. The highest point is 355 m with the Plomb in the south of the municipal area. There is also a dam ( Barrage de Petit- saut ), whose power is sufficient to provide a large part of French Guiana with electricity can to the border of Saint- Élie.
