Soudaine-Lavinadière

Soudaine - Lavinadière ( Sodena e la Vinadièra in Occitan ) is a commune with 173 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Corrèze, in the Limousin region. The municipality is a member of the Association of Municipalities Vézère Monedieres. The inhabitants call themselves Vinadièrois (it).

Geography

The municipality is located in the Massif Central on the Plateau de Millevaches and thus also in the Regional Natural Park Millevaches en Limousin. The municipality is crossed by the Vézère and the Soudaine.

Tulle, prefecture of the department is located, about 40 kilometers south of Brive -la -Gaillarde about 60 km south-west and slightly Treignac about seven kilometers south-east.

The village is located about 24 kilometers east of exit 43 of the A20 Motorway.

Neighboring communities of Soudaine - Lavinadière are Chamberet in the north, Treignac in the east, in the southeast Affieux, Peyrissac the southwest, Rilhac- Treignac in the west and Meilhards in the northwest.

History

The municipality was created in 1782 by Soudaine - Lavinadière the merger of the then independent municipalities Soudaine and Lavinadière (both in the 13th century, first mentioned ). The churches of both communities were separated by only 700 yards, but none of them had a sacristy or a presbytery. So already the Church of Soudaine 1783 abandoned, which then fell into ruin. The Church of Lavinadière was repaired, when a bell tower and the bell of Soudaine.
