United Nations Security Council Resolution 3

Resolution 3 of the UN Security Council was adopted on April 4, 1946. The Security Council notes in the resolution that the Soviet troops were not on time withdrawn from Iranian territory. The Soviet Union is invited to deduct the troops as soon as possible; all other States not to interfere with the withdrawal of troops. In the event that the withdrawal of troops should be put at risk, the Security Council Wishes to be informed.

The resolution was adopted by 9 votes. Australia abstained from voting, the delegation of the Soviet Union was not present.

On 8 May, the Security Council in Resolution 5 note that the Iranian government could not determine the withdrawal of Soviet troops and postponed further action until May 20
