1972–73 DDR-Oberliga

The 1972/73 season was the 24th edition of the East German Oberliga. Champion for the third time, the SG Dynamo Dresden. The season began on September 16, 1972 and ended on 23 June 1973.

Course of the season

The three dominant teams in the East German football in the 1970s Dynamo Dresden, Carl Zeiss Jena and 1.FC Magdeburg made ​​this time the first three places among themselves.
