1988 Gulf Cup of Nations

The ninth edition of the Gulf Cup was held from 2 to 18 March 1988 in the Saudi Arabian capital, Riyadh instead. Iraq won his third from the previous three titles.

The seven teams were all against each other, the team with the most points won the tournament, should after six games between the two teams reign of equality, had to find the winner of a play-off. Direct comparison and goal difference did not apply.
