The 1989/90 season was the 53rd season of the Hungarian Hockey League, the highest Hungarian Hockey League. Champion for the first time in club history at all Lehel SE Jászberény.

In the main round each of the seven teams completed a total of 24 games. The top two teams qualified for the championship final. For a win, each team was given two points, a draw there was a point and a defeat.
