Background

Despite a strike French lorry drivers and the related traffic problems on the roads all the teams met at the weekend after the French Grand Prix in time for the ninth world championship race of the year in Britain.

Christian Fittipaldi was sidelined due to injury and was represented at Minardi by Alessandro Zanardi.

Training

In contrast to France GP a prequalification was held up because the message list as a result of the return of the team Andrea Moda Formula again comprised 32 pilots, of which only 30 were allowed to participate in regular training.

Race
