2005 World Series of Poker

The World Series of Poker 2005 took place in the gambling metropolis of Las Vegas, Nevada between the 2nd and 15th of July. It 45 events were held, all of which were played with buy-ins. To participate in the most important poker tournament in the world, you had to pay an amount depending on the game between $ 500 and $ 10,000. Interest in the 2005 WSOP was as big as ever. The American sports broadcaster ESPN reported daily live, with analyzes and backgrounds. TV crews from 14 countries were on hand. Main Event

There were 5661 poker players who paid the buy-in of $ 10,000. There have however played only 5619. Thus, it was at the time, the largest tournament outside of the Internet. The doubling of the field to the previous year is because more and more players have qualified online.
