2009 NZIHL season

The 2009 season was the fifth season of the New Zealand Ice Hockey League, the highest New Zealand Ice Hockey League. Masters were for the first time in club history at all the Canterbury Red Devils.

Mode

In the regular season, each of the five teams played a total of 16 games. The top two teams qualified for the championship final. For one victory after regulation time, each team was given two points for a Draws a point and a defeat after regular time zero points.
