2011–12 Cupa României
The Cupa României was played out in the season 2011/12 to 74 times. The official name of the competition was " Cupa României Timisoreana ". In the final game, which was first played in the Arena Naţională in Bucharest, Dinamo Bucharest won against city rivals Rapid Bucharest 1-0 and qualified for the UEFA Europa League by 2012/13.

The clubs in the League 1 took part only from the sixth round of the cup competition. Apart from the semi-finals, only one game was played.
