30th Berlin International Film Festival
The International Film Festival Berlin 1980 took place this year from February 18 to February 29. It was the first Berlinale, which was led by the new director Moritz de Hadeln. De Hadeln called Manfred Salzgeber Head of the Information show, which should provide an overview of the international cinema scene. Salzgeber made five years later from today's Panorama section.

International Jury
This year's jury president was the Swedish actress Ingrid Thulin. She got the following jury: Betsy Blair ( United Kingdom), Mathieu Carrière ( Germany ), Alberto Isaac (Mexico), Peter Kern ( Germany ), Károly Makk (Hungary ), Alexander Mitta (USSR), Alexandre Trauner (France) and Angel car stone (Bulgaria).
