31st Berlin International Film Festival
The Berlin International Film Festival 1981 took place from 13 to 24 February.

The following films were shown this year in the official competition:
International Jury
Jury President this year was the director Jutta Brückner. She stood in front of the following judges: Peter Bichsel ( Switzerland ), Denis Héroux (Canada), Astrid Henning -Jensen (Denmark ), Antonio Isasi (Spain ), Irina Petrovna Kuptschenko (USSR), Jerzy Plazewski (Poland ), Prince Chatrichalerm Yukol (Thailand ) and Italo Zingarelli (Italy).

- Barbara Grabowska in Fever ( Best Actress )

International Forum of New Cinema
Outstanding films in the Forum program this year were the films of Andrei Tarkovsky and Stalker Save yourself if you can (life) by Jean -Luc Godard.
