The A832 road is an A road in the Scottish council area of Highland. It is especially true in the western part as one of the most scenic roads through the Highlands. With minor interruptions it connects the east and west coast and opens a sparsely populated part of the Highlands.

Course

The road begins at the ferry dock in Cromarty on the Black Isle, north-east of Inverness. From the ferry landing, a car ferry crossing the Cromarty Firth by Nigg Ferry, south of Tain. From Cromarty the A832 along the southern shore of the Black Isle runs along the Moray Firth via Fortrose to the roundabout with the major north - south route of the A9 and the A835. West of it touches the road, just the northern shores of the Beauly Firth, before the A833 and the Far North Line crosses in Muir of Ord. About 10 kilometers west of Muir of Ord meets the A832 again on the A835, just after crossing the River Conon at Moy Bridge. Together with the A835, the A832 runs south of Strathpeffer along the Blackwater to the small village of Garve on the Kyle of Lochalsh Line. While the A835 runs on a direct path to the northwest towards Ullapool, the A832 continues west always parallel to the Kyle of Lochalsh Line to the small village of Achnasheen, along Loch Luichart and hole Achanalt. In Achnasheen the A890 branches off towards Kyle of Lochalsh. The A832 runs through the spectacular scenic Glen Docherty to the northwest to Kinlochewe. There, the A896 branches off to the Torridon and Shieldaig.

To the north of Kinlochewe begins the scenic impressive part of the A832 which takes you through some of the most remote areas of the North West Highlands. First, it runs between the up to 1010 m high massif of Beinn Eighe, a biosphere reserve by UNESCO, and the Loch Maree. On the south shore the road goes almost the entire Loch Maree along until it turns west. Over a short, yet run as a single track road section, the road reaches Gairloch on the west coast. North of Gairloch offers a wide view to the road to the Outer Hebrides and the northern tip of the Isle of Skye. The A832 continues along the coast, but cuts off several peninsulas. In Poolewe they reached Loch Ewe, passing Inverewe Garden. The following are the small villages of Aultbea and Laide, at Gruinard Bay crosses the A832 Gruinard Iceland. Due largely uninhabited area, the A832 including the towering up to 1062 meters An Teallach runs north on the shores of Little Loch Broom along and passes through the small settlement Dundonnell, then follows the canyon of Dundonnell River. About 20 km after Dundonnell the A832 ends at Braemore Junction, the junction with the A835.

The A832 has a total length of 184.3 km, not counting the section on the A835 between the north end of the brigde over the River Moy Conon and Garve. In the " Local Plan Wester Ross " the Council Area, the A832 as well as the A835 should be chosen for their scenic beauty saved as a "scenic route".
