Aargau S-Bahn

On the timetable change on 14 December 2008, a commuter train numbering was introduced for the Regionalzuglinien in the canton of Aargau. This S -Bahn Aargau was designed to complement the adjacent S-Bahn networks Zurich, Basel and central Switzerland. The line numbers have been selected in the 20's range ( with the exception of S14 Menziken -Aarau - Schöftland ), to avoid conflicts with the adjacent leading into the Canton of Aargau S -Bahn lines arise.

New stations were not built, also was not a new rolling stock procured. It is essentially a renaming of existing rail lines. Chance, however, certain alignments were changed from the timetable 2007/2008 ( eg by binding Langenthal - Baden), and partly also compressed the schedule.
