Abdullahi Yusuf Ahmed

Abdullahi Yusuf Ahmed ( Somali: Axmed Cabdulaahi Yuusuf, born 15 December 1934 in Gaalkacyo, Mudug, Somalia, † March 23, 2012 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates) from 2004 to 2008, President of the Transitional Government of Somalia. He was a member of the Darod clan.

Previously, he had been since 1998 President of the de facto autonomous Puntland, which he himself had declared its independence.

Career

After studying law, he took the military career. From 1965 to 1968 he was military attaché in Moscow.
