Accelerate is the fourteenth studio album by the American rock band REM It was published on 31 March 2008 in Europe and is the successor of 2004 brought out Around the Sun.
Production
Musically, the album is harder and rockier than the previous one. The first single 2008 Supernatural Serious was released on February 25. A distinctive feature of the album is the fast recording time. Within three weeks, the entire album was recorded in three different cities, which Michael Stipe felt set for writing the texts under pressure, as he told the magazine Spin.
Reception
Pooltrax says of the album " ... one can her little comeback with earthy fresh and energetic songs and beautiful melodies now extensively celebrate " and finds About Songs: " ... Despite all the criticism is " Accelerate " a good REM album and proves that the band do, as opposed to all the other bands that are as long as this, indeed deserves further ".

Publications
In Germany, only the single Supernatural Serious was released. Australia and the USA Hollow Man was on 2 June 2008 in the UK, sold. The Singles Man- Sized Wreath and Until the Day is Done were only distributed via download portals.
