Adrian Mihalcea

Dumitru Adrian Mihalcea ( born May 24, 1976 in Slobozia, Circle Ialomiţa ) is a former Romanian football player and current coach. He played a total of 397 games in the Romanian Liga 1, the Italian Serie B, the Cypriot First Division and the South Korean K- League. With Dinamo Bucharest he won the Romanian Cup in 2000. Since summer 2013 he has been head coach of Unirea Slobozia in Romanian League II

Club career

Mihalcea played a long time for the team of Dinamo Bucharest, with the 2000 and 2001 he was able to consecutively win the national championship in 2000, and the Romanian Cup.

2001 was his most successful year as a football by scoring 11 goals in 14 league games and therefore could arouse interest abroad. At the end of the year Mihalcea was voted at number 5 the list of player of the year in Romania. The following season, he then moved to Genoa in Serie B, where he immediately became the best scorer of the club. In 2003 he was transferred to Premier League rivals Hellas Verona, where he also succeeded in 20 games a good season with 5 goals.

The return to his home to Dinamo was disappointing for him as he lost his place in the storm during the season. Nevertheless, he achieved one of the team captains winning the Cup in 2005 for the third time.

The following year, Mihalcea moved to South Korea to the Chunnam Dragons, but where he came only to season 5 inserts. He had some trouble with the Asian lifestyle, he broke the contract on prematurely and returned to Romania. There he prepared himself for two months alone on the upcoming season before and then signed a three -month contract with FC Vaslui. At this time he was no longer in view of the national team.

In summer 2006, Mihalcea tried his luck once more abroad in the Cypriot second division club Aris Limassol to give a turn upward around the career. He was also very successful, scoring 27 goals in 48 games for his new club, which he drew attention to himself in the first division of the country. The following season he was loaned to first division side AEL Limassol, where he could mark the end 5 hits in 23 games and one of the team captains of the club was. In 2009, Mihalcea returned to the second division to Aris as he finds great recognition as one of the best scorers in the history of the club.

Since summer 2010, Mihalcea plays in his Romanian homeland at Astra Ploieşti. After only half a year, he moved to league rivals Unirea Urziceni. At the end of the 2010/11 season, he was relegated to the Liga II with his club. He then moved to newly promoted CS Concordia Chiajna. This he left after a year and joined the second division Unirea Slobozia. There he ended his active career in the summer of 2013.

National

Mihalceas international career fell far short of expectations, as him according to his goals in the Romanian U- 21 team a successful career has been prophesied. He made his debut on 2 September 1998 against Liechtenstein in the national team of his country. In a total of 16 operations he was able to achieve a single goal and failed to be nominated for the European Football Championship 2000. 2003 he was finally sorted out and since then also not reconvened for an international match.
