Originally, the station in the plans was not provided for the expansion. But the post-war development and the built in 1929-1931 Friedrich Ebert settlement justify its own train station. The said settlement also received an appreciation as a subtitle for the station name.

The station presents itself as a relatively simple, sober and discreet. Architect Bruno Grimmek designed a typical 110 meters long and eight meters wide central platform, which received a dressed with colorful Glasmosaiksteinchen row of columns in the middle. The ceiling slopes gently toward the row of columns of the platform.

Currently, the station is only accessible by stone stairs at the end of the platform. A kit with a lift system is not required until after 2016.
