Agnieszka GÄ…sienica-Daniel

Agnieszka Gąsienica -Daniel ( born December 22, 1987 in Zakopane ) is a Polish ski racer. She belongs to the A-team of the Polish Ski Association and specializes in the technical disciplines, slalom and giant slalom.

Biography

Gąsienica -Daniel drove her first FIS races in December 2002 and reached from the start good rankings. Only three months later, she started for the first time at a World Junior Championship, but was able to finish any of their race at the finish. The following year she won at the Junior World Championships in Maribor 29th place in the giant slalom, slalom she left again. On 21 February 2004, she started for the first time in the European Cup and was only a few days later, Polish Junior Champion in Giant Slalom and Super -G.

At the age of only 16 years Gąsienica -Daniel launched on 23 October 2004 in the giant slalom in Soelden for the first time in a World Cup race. But in the next three years she had only a few bets in the World Cup and could produce a result in any of these races. In February 2005, the first time they took part in a world championship and finished ranked 31st in the giant slalom. Two weeks later, she came at the Junior World Championships on the 20th place in the slalom.

Her best result at Junior World Championships reached the Pole in Quebec City in 2006 with the eleventh place in the slalom, a year later, she was ranked 12 in the giant slalom and 13th in slalom. In 2006 she was the first time Polish champion in giant slalom. By 2010, followed by four more titles in slalom and giant slalom. In 2007 Gąsienica -Daniel took part in the World Championships in Åre, but fell in both the slalom and giant slalom in the first passage out. At the beginning of the seasons 2006/ 07 and 2007/ 08 they drove several races in Nor- Am Cup and reached its best result a third in the giant slalom in Winter Park in December 2006.

Since the 2007/ 08 season Gąsienica -Daniel is a regular on the World Cup at the start and took on 24 November in the giant slalom in Panorama with 26th place their first points, but remained in the rest of the winter without any result. In September 2008 she took, as well as two other Polish women, at eight races of the Australia New Zealand Cup and was able to win three times and reached two second places. So she finished behind her teammate Katarzyna Karasinska second overall and chose the Super -G and Super Combination vote for themselves.

At the start of the World Cup season 2008/ 09 she went in the giant slalom in Soelden again number 26 and scored for the second time, a month later she came in slalom in Aspen ranked 28th in the European Cup they reached in January 2009 in the giant slalom at Courchevel their first podium finish. At the 2009 World Championships in Val d'Isere, she went in the slalom and giant slalom at the start, but failed both times in the qualifying for the second run.

In the summer of 2009 Gąsienica -Daniel again took part in the race of the Australia New Zealand Cup and decided with a win and five other podium finishes overall rating for themselves. On November 28 2009 she succeeded with 20th place in the giant slalom in Aspen, her best World Cup result. In its first Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver in 2010, she started in all five disciplines and always came to the finish down to the giant slalom. Your best results were number 23 in the Super -G and rank 25 in the super combined. In the season 2010/11 Gąsienica -Daniel was the first time in four years, again with no World Cup points. At the World Championships 2011 in Garmisch -Partenkirchen, it achieved a 18th place in the super combined and ranked 30th in the slalom two placements in midfield. In the Giant Slalom and Super -G she left.
