Alberto Pigaiani

Alberto Pigaiani ( born July 15, 1928 in Milan, † June 15, 2003 ) was an Italian weightlifter.

Career

Alberte Pigaiani grew up in Milan and worked as a boy with football, athletics and swimming. Since he was tall and strong as a teenager, he tried his hand in the late 1940s with the weight lifting. But it took until the mid- 1950s, until he could draw attention to themselves through performance. Much credit earned itself as coach of former world-class lifter Attilio Bescape. 1956 in Melbourne Alberto won an Olympic medal in the heavyweight division, continuing the great tradition of Italian heavy weight lifter, with Filippo Bottino and Giuseppe Tonani spawned two Olympic champions in the 1920s, continued.
