Alexandre Boikov

Alexander Vladimirovich Boikow (Russian Александр Владимирович Бойков; born February 7, 1975 in Chelyabinsk, Russian SFSR ) is a Russian ice hockey player who is under contract with the OHK Dynamo in the Kontinental Hockey League since 2010.

Career

Alexander Boikow began his career as a hockey player in Canadian junior Western Hockey League in which he was active for the Victoria Cougars, Prince George Cougars and Tri -City Americans 1993-1996. Then the defender received on 22 April 1996 as a free agent contract with the San Jose Sharks of the National Hockey League. For this he never played, however, since it exclusively on their farm team in the American Hockey League, at the Kentucky Thoroughblades, spent the next three seasons. However, the 1998/99 season he finished at Kentucky League rivals, the Rochester Americans. In July 1999, the Russians also signed as a free agent with the Nashville Predators for which it ten times in the NHL was in the following three seasons on the ice. But again he played almost exclusively in the International Hockey League, and by their league change since 2001 in the American Hockey League, for Nashville's farm team Milwaukee Admirals.

From 2002 to 2006 Boikow played for HK Metallurg Magnitogorsk in the Russian Super League. With his team, he failed in the 2003/04 season in the play-off final of the Championship at HK Avangard Omsk and won the 2005 Spengler Cup. After he was two years with Salavat Yulaev Ufa under contract by which he first Russian champion in 2008, undertook to season 2008/ 09 Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod of the Kontinental Hockey League the former NHL player. For the following season, he signed with league rival whose HK MVD Balaschicha.

Internationally

For Russia Boikow took part in the Junior World Cup in 1995, where he took second place with his team.
