Alf Klimek

Alf Alf Klimek and Klimax are stage name of Alfonso Joseph Klimek ( born February 3, 1956 in Melbourne, Victoria ( Australia) ) an Australian musician, pop singer and composer.

Life and work

His mother Luisa Cester ( born January 29, 1919 in Pasiano di Pordenone ), daughter of Mr and Mrs Eugenia and Ernesto Cester, traveled in mid-1940 from Italy to Australia and married after the war with Alfons Klimek - they had eight children. Her sister Fanny Cester was an opera singer and the wife of Nino Borsaris ( 1911-1996 ). The musicians Nic (* 1979) and his brother Chris Cester ( born 1981 ) are the sons of John Cesters ( 1959-1996 ) and related to the siblings Klimek.

Alf is the older brother of the twins (born 1962 ) and Johnny Klimek Jayney. In June 1977 he joined the Dolls Stuffed Puppet Theatre under the direction of a Newille Tranter and worked as a puppet and puppeteer and writer. In 1978 he traveled with the puppet theater to Amsterdam, took part in the Festival of Fools, changed in 1979 to the cabaret Busby Berkeley Roadshow and traveled in Europe and to New York City. He then joined the Nina Hagen Band in West Berlin and founded in 1980 as a singer Alf climax with Herwig Mitteregger, Bernhard Potschka and Manfred Praeker the rock group Spliff.

He traveled to Australia, came back in 1983 with his sister and brother Johnny Jayney to Berlin, where she pop band The Others Ones founded by Uwe Hoffmann, Stephan Gottwald and Andreas Schwarz Ruszczynski. Their first two singles came in the German music charts - the third single with the song Another Holiday Holiday was the summer hit of the year 1987.

Alf Klimek came in 1990 from the pop band from traveling between Berlin and Melbourne and established in Australia with Lindsay Gravina own Rock Studio Birdland and worked for several years in the preparation of musicals. In 1998, he accepted the offer by Klaus Baumgart and dealt with the radio play version of the children's book series Lauras Stern.
