Alice of Wonderland in Paris

Alice of Wonderland in Paris is an American animated film from the year 1966. It was directed by Gene Deitch.

Action

After her return from Wonderland was a celebrity from Alice. In her dreams she wants to visit Paris, to take part in a student exchange with the heroine Madeline.

A little later emerged a talking mouse named Francois in her bedroom to ask them about their favorite cheese. He takes her on his bike in his hometown of Paris. There, the mice Rich turned into a mushroom that shrinks Alice to rodent size. Together they ride through Paris with Francois told her a number of short stories with Parisian themes. Towards the end of the film, it turns out that Madeline dreams of the adventures of Alice in Wonderland.

Production

Alice of Wonderland in Paris was realized by the team of Gene Deitch and William L. Snyder. Previously, the short film Munro was produced by this team, which was honored in 1961 with an Oscar for best animated short film.

The figure Madeline was invented by the writer Ludwig Bemelmans, she plays next to Alice in this movie a central role.

The filmmakers were also short time for production of the cartoon series Tom and Jerry and Popeye responsible.

The film was presented in 1966 due to its length of 52 minutes just for a short period of time in theaters. Only with the publication of the short film White Mane in 1966, the film was re- presented several times in theaters. In the 1970s, the film under the title Alice in the New Wonderland has been re-released by Paramount Pictures. The film was originally released by the company Childhood Productions.
