ALMA Award

The American Latino Media Arts Awards ( ALMA Awards short ) is an award that will be awarded to Latin American actors, directors and musicians who have rendered outstanding services to a positive public representation of their compatriots.

The award was established in 1995 by the U.S. National Council of La Raza launched to counter the negative stereotypes in the U.S. entertainment industry. The awards are presented annually.
