Alona Bondarenko

Alyona Bondarenko Wolodymyriwna (Ukrainian Альона Володимирівна Бондаренко; born August 13, 1984 in Krivoy Rog, then Ukrainian SSR ) is a former Ukrainian tennis player.

Career

Alyona, is the older sister Kateryna Bondarenko of which has also played on the WTA tour.

Alyona Bondarenko was from 1999 until 2011 elite player on the tour. She gave in 2005 at the Australian Open debut at a Grand Slam tournament.

In individual she won her first WTA tournament on 1 October 2006 in Luxembourg at the FORTIS Championships. In her first tournament in 2010, she managed the second title win on the tour. Moorilla Hobart International in the final of the defeated as number 4 of the tournament seeded 2 Shahar Peer 6-2, 6-4.

At her sister Kateryna page 2008 she won her only title at a Grand Slam tournament when they won the doubles competition at the Australian Open with a final victory over the pairing Azarenka / Peer.

At the Olympic Games in Beijing in 2008, she went to Ukraine at the start. In individual she lost in the second round against Jelena Jankovic of Serbia with 5:7, 1:6. In doubles, she succumbed to her sister mating Yan Zi / Zheng Jie from China in the bronze medal match with 2:6, 2:6.

In the WTA tournament in Moscow in October 2011 Alyona Bondarenko had her last appearance on the tour. Your sister could not give any information about their return to the tour in November 2013.
