Defender of the individual Gastón Gaudio were in the men's and Anastasia Myskina at the ladies. In the men's doubles were Xavier Malisse and Olivier Rochus, in women's doubles Virginia Ruano Pascual and Paola Suárez, the defending champion. Tatiana Golovin and Richard Gasquet were the defending champions in the mixed doubles.
In men's singles, the Spaniard Rafael Nadal at the age of only 19 years, won the same in his first participation. In the women's singles Justine Henin won. In the men's doubles Jonas Bjorkman and Max Mirnyi victorious. in women's doubles Virginia Ruano Pascual and Virginia Ruano Pascual. The title in mixed Daniela Hantuchova won and Fabrice Santoro.
