Amancey

Amancey is a commune in the French department Doubs in the Franche-Comté region and capital of the canton in the Arrondissement Amancey Besançon.

Geography

Amancey is located on 584 m above sea level, about ten kilometers southwest of Ornans, 22 km south of the city of Besançon ( straight line ). The scattered village extends in the Jura, on the plateau of Amancey that stretches between the valleys of Loue and Lison.

History
