Crouzet-Migette

Crouzet Migette is a commune in the French department Doubs in the Franche -Comté.

Geography

Crouzet Migette is on 613 m above sea level, about 20 km southwest of Ornans and 31 km south of the city of Besançon (air line). The village is located in the Jura, on a plateau south of karst source of Lison and west of the Plateau of Levier.

The area of ​​5.67 km ² municipal area includes a portion of the French Jura. The central part of the area occupied by the plateau of Crouzet, which is on average 620 m and is mainly consisted of meadow land. It is flanked on the south side of a hill, on the 741 meters, the highest elevation of Crouzet Migette is achieved. To the west and north of the plateau drops steeply to the deep erosion valley of the Petit Lison, which flows in an arc over the rocks boiler Creux Billard to Lison. The northern boundary runs along the striking projection of the Château Sainte -Anne.

The municipality consists of the village Crouzet (626 m) on the plateau and the hamlet Migette (520 m) in the valley of the Petit Lison. Neighboring communities of Crouzet Migette are Nans -sous -Sainte -Anne and Montmahoux in the north, Gevresin in the east, Villeneuve- d'Amont in the South and Sainte -Anne in the West.

History

Since the 11th century was located in today's Migette a hermitage, which was soon expanded to a nunnery. The village Crouzet has existed since the 12th century. The place name derives from creux and means less digging, deepening. Since the Middle Ages Crouzet belonged to the manor Sainte -Anne, while the lower courts when Migette monastery was. Together with the Franche -Comté reached the village with the Peace of Nijmegen in 1678 to France. Since the time of the French Revolution and Crouzet Crouzet Migette formed the community. To avoid confusion with other municipalities of the same name, the town was officially renamed in 1923 in Crouzet Migette. Since 1993, Crouzet Migette is a member of the comprehensive 19 villages municipal association Communauté de communes Amancey - Loue - Lison.

The village is located off the major thoroughfares on a secondary road, leading from Nans -sous -Sainte -Anne Villeneuve -d'Amont. Further road links exist with Sainte -Anne and Gevresin.
