Anadolu Selçukluspor

Selçukluspor Anadolu is a Turkish football team from the central Anatolian city of Konya. The team currently plays in the Turkish TFF Lig 2 The club colors are blue - green. The team is caused by the fact that the predecessor club Konya Şekerspor with Konyaspor to Torku Konyaspor merged and Anadolu Selçukluspor to the minor team Torku Konyaspors was.

Konya Şekerspor is still active in wrestling and Konya Torku Şeker Spor - Vivelo to cycling.

Merger with Konyaspor and renamed Anadolu Selçukluspor

Konya Şekerspor merged in July 2012 with the second division Konyaspor to Torku Konyaspor. The competition laws of Konya Şekerspor in the second TFF Lig were not abandoned. Instead, the club was renamed Anadolu Selçukluspor and will accrue in the future as a by- team Torku Konyaspors in the 2nd Lig.

The new name Anadolu Selçukluspor is an allusion to the sultanate of Rum - Seljuks. This Sultanate is similar to the new club name, in Turkey as Anadolu Seljuk Devleti (German: Anatolian Seljuk State ) referred to; it had its headquarters in the province of Konya. The province is historically associated with this sultanate.
