Anastasia Pivovarova

Anastasia Olegovna Piwowarowa (Russian Анастасия Олеговна Пивоварова, scientific transliteration Anastasia Pivovarova Olegovna; * June 16, 1990 in Chita, Soviet Union) is a Russian tennis player.

Biography

2005 Anastasia Piwowarowa began her professional career on the ITF Tour. In only her second tournament she won the first individual title. In Moscow she won the final against Olga Panova 7-6 7-6.

In 2007 Piwowarowa got for the WTA tournaments in Indian Wells and Miami respectively a wildcard for the qualifications. In Indian Wells she reached the second qualifying round after a win against Italian Karin Knapp. However, they did not make it in two tournaments into the main draw. Also in the qualification they failed at the WTA tournament in Moscow in the autumn. On the ITF Tour Piwowarowa 2007 won three singles and one doubles title.

In Indian Wells and Miami Piwowarowa 2008 received each a wildcard for the main draw, but when that failed in the first round both times. At the French Open, she first attempted in 2008 to qualifying for a Grand Slam, which they still could not. Things went better, however, at the U.S. Open, where she first qualified for the main draw of a Grand Slam. In the first round she lost but against the Swiss Patty Schnyder scarce in three sets. In Seoul Piwowarowa managed their first victory in a main draw of a WTA tournament. They benefited from the task of Korean Lee Ye -ra in the third set.

In 2009, it was not optimal due to some injuries. Nevertheless Piwowarowa reached the second round in Miami, where she lost to Elena Dementieva in three sets. At the U.S. Open she failed to qualify.
