Petra Martić
Petra Martić (born 19 January 1991 Duce, community Dugi Rat, according to other sources: Split) is a Croatian tennis player.
Career
Martić began at the age of five years with the tennis games. My favorite surface is hard court.
In 2008, she became a professional player. In the same year she won the ITF tournament Zagreb Ladies Open due to a playoff victory over Yvonne Meusburger. In 2009 she qualified for the French Open, where she lost in the second round against Aleksandra Wozniak 3:6, 3:6. In the Portoroz Open, she defeated defending champion Sara Errani.
Since 2008 Martić belongs to the Croatian Fed Cup team.
In 2012 she was in Kuala Lumpur to wins over Peng Shuai and Jelena Jankovic for the first time in an individual in a final of the WTA Tour, the match against Hsieh Su- Wei she had at the registry of 6:2, 5:7, 1:4 to give up. Three weeks earlier, she had lost in Paris her first WTA doubles final at the side of Anna -Lena Grönefeld with 6:7, 1:6 against Liezel Huber and Lisa Raymond. At the French Open, she made it to the second round, where they had a 3:6 against Angelique Kerber - suffered, 5:7 defeat. It was her best-ever performance at a Grand Slam tournament in singles.
