Andreas Dackell

Lars Andreas Dackell ( born December 29, 1972 in Gävle ) is a retired Swedish professional ice hockey player who played during his playing career 1992-2012 for the Ottawa Senators and Montreal Canadiens in the National Hockey League and Brynäs IF in the Swedish Elitserien.

Career

Andreas Dackell began his career as a hockey player in his hometown in Gavle GIK, for the first team, he was active in the then second-class Division 1 1990-1992. In parallel, the attacker took part for their city rivals Brynäs IF the game operation of the Elitserien, to which he moved to the 1992/93 season. With Brynäs he won the Swedish Championship this season and two years later became the runner-up team. After the 1995 season he was top scorer and top scorer of the Superallsvenskan / 96 large share of the relegation of his team, the right-handed shooter has been selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 1996 in the sixth round as a total of 136 players from the Ottawa Senators.

From 1996 to 2001 Dackell belonged to the permanent staff of the Senators and played in all but nine games of the regular season for the Canadians in the National Hockey League. Subsequently, the Olympic champion from 1994 was transferred to the Montréal Canadiens, for in the NHL, he was on the ice for another three years. For the season 2004 /05 the winger returned to his native Sweden, where he was awarded a contract as a free agent with his former club Brynäs IF, for whom he played until the end of season 2011/12 and was team captain.

For Sweden Dackell participated in the World Championships in 1994, 1995 and 1996 and the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer part.
