Angelo Italia

Angelo Italia (* 1628 in Licata, † 1701 in Palermo ) was an Italian architect of the Baroque in Sicily.

The technical training received Italia by his father, a master mason in Licata. His first work as an architect was the construction of the Chiesa di Sant'Angelo Carmelitano in Licata of 1653, which has not yet come up to the quality of his later buildings. 1671, at the age of 43, he joined the Order of the Jesuits and went to the Jesuit College in Palermo.
