Anne Haney

Anne Haney ( March 4, 1934 in Memphis, † 26 May 2001, Studio City, Los Angeles ) was an American actress, who by the role as social worker Mrs. Sellner in the movie Mrs. Doubtfire - became known, the prickly nanny.

Life and career

Haney was born on March 4, 1934 in Memphis as Anne Ryan Thomas. She attended the University of North Carolina and studied drama and later radio and television. There she met her future husband, John Haney know. Short term Haney worked for a TV station in Memphis.

The couple moved to Atlanta and moved there on their daughter. In the 1970s, Haney began to become active in local theater and advertising. In Atlanta, she was a member of the Screen Actors Guild and the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists.

Her career in film and television, she only began in the late 1970s when she was in her 40s. The first role, as Mrs. Benn she graduated in 1978 in the television film My German Soldier. In the 1980s, she appeared mainly in TV series and films, but also in theater productions. Among the television series included Quincy, Cheers, Scarecrow and Mrs. King and St. Elsewhere. Haney was in the Star Trek: The Next Generation episode " The survivors of Rana 4" Rishon Uxbridge as and later as a Bajoran judge in the Star Trek: Deep Space Nine episode " Dax ". She was a regular guest star in Mama 's Family, where she, her opponent by Thelma Harper played Metchum Alberta, as well as in The Golden Girls, Columbo and Boy Meets World.

She worked until recently as an actress. In her last years, she starred in Dharma & Greg, Providence, The Geena Davis Show and Ally McBeal. Haney died on 26 May 2001 at the age of 67 from heart failure.

Family

Haney was married to John Haney. He died in 1980. Together they had a daughter.
