Anne Hobbs

Anne Hobbs ( born August 21, 1959 in Nottingham ) is a British former tennis player.

Career

Anne Hobbs could win a total of two WTA singles titles and eight WTA doubles titles during her tennis career. She also played for Great Britain in the Wightman Cup and Federation Cup.

She twice reached double final of a Grand Slam tournament, which was lost in each case. In 1983, she lost the Australian Open with doubles partner Wendy Turnbull against Martina Navratilova pairing / Pam Shriver with 4:6, 7:6, 2:6 and in 1984 she lost the U.S. Open with Wendy Turnbull against Martina Navratilova / Pam Shriver with 2:6, 4:6.

In 1987, she reached the final of the Australian Open in mixed doubles, which they lost with Mixed - partner Andrew Castle against the pairing Zina Garrison / Sherwood Stewart 3:6, 7:65, 6:3.
