Antanas Karoblis

Antanas Karoblis ( born August 17, 1940 in Daujėnai, Rajongemeinde Biržai, † June 19, 2007 in Kaunas ) was a Lithuanian politician.

Life

From 1946 to 1947 he studied in Daujėnai and 1951-1957 in Joniškėlis, 1957-1958 at the middle school Panevėžys. Because of the anti-Soviet activity, he was not taken to Vilniaus universitetas (VU). After correction of the biography he studied from 1958 at Vilniaus Pedagoginis institutas, but after two months he had to leave the Institute. From 1959 to 1961 he worked in the peat - Purviai Guodžiai at Biržai and in Pasvalys as workers in the melioration. In 1960 he was a teacher in the school Žaideliai. From 1960 to 1966 he completed his studies at the mathematics faculty of the VU. From 1973 to 1990 he taught at Kauno politechnikos institutas, 1989-1991 Vice-Rector of Vytautas Magnus University in Kaunas.

From 1990 to 1992 he was a member of the Seimas. From 2000 to 2003 he was a member of the Council of Rajongemeinde Kaunas.

From 1998 he was a member of the LSDP.

His grave is in the cemetery Petrašiūnai.
