Arizona's 4th congressional district

The 4th Congressional District of Arizona is a furnished according to the 1970 census congressional district in the U.S. state of Arizona. It covers the southern part of the city of Phoenix and some of its suburbs, including parts of Glendale. He is currently represented by Democratic Representatives Ed Pastor.

Characteristics

This Latino - dominated constituency covers most of downtown Phoenix and the older part of Glendale and is the most inclined toward the Democratic Party district in Arizona. At the same time, the electoral district to the highest proportion of all electoral districts in the state of African Americans. In addition, here the proportion of pensioners is lowest.

John Kerry won in the 2004 presidential election in this district 62 % of the vote. Four years later, in 2008, Barack Obama took 65.73 % of the votes, which was his best and John McCain's worst result in the state.
