Arrondissement of Clermont-Ferrand
The arrondissement Clermont-Ferrand is an administrative district in the Puy -de- Dôme in the Auvergne region of France.
History
On 4 March 1790, founded with the establishment of the department of Puy -de- Dôme, a " district Clermont- Ferrand ," which was, however, significantly smaller than the present district. From the district expanded to include the " District Billom ", was the district Clermont -Ferrand with the founding of the arrondissement on February 17, 1800.

Geography
The district is bordered to the north by the district of Riom, in the east by the arrondissements Thiers, Ambert, on the south by the district Issoire and to the west by the arrondissements in Correze Ussel (Limousin ) and Aubusson in Creuse, in the Limousin region also.
