Aruna Dindane

Aruna (* November 26, 1980 in Abidjan ) is an Ivorian football player, he plays as a striker and was also used in the national team of his native country.

Clubs

Aruna began his career at ASEC Mimosas. For the season 2000/ 01 he moved abroad for the first time top Belgian club RSC Anderlecht. Here he was able to win right away and managed in his first season to jump into the trunk squad. As a result, he played five seasons for Anderlecht and was doing twice Belgian champion in 2003 and took the Golden Boot as the best player of the year in Belgium. For the season 2005/ 06 he moved to his current club RC Lens in the French Ligue 1, where he was in the 2005/06 season behind Daniel Cousin the scorer of his team. In early May 2008, he suffered a tear of the cruciate ligaments in his left knee, which again left him six months later to point stakes in the now relegated to Ligue 2 Northern French hope.

End of August 2009 he was loaned to the English first division club Portsmouth FC. Furthermore, " Pompey " a call option, which is set at € 4 million guaranteed. This would automatically become due if Dindane had denied his eighteenth league appearance for Portsmouth. Since the association is, however, insolvent and the transfer fee could not pay, he no longer stood for his seventeenth League action against Liverpool in the squad for league matches of FC Portsmouth. However, he was still in the FA Cup for the use, as the contract clause applied only to the league. For the 2010/11 season Dindane moved to Qatari club Lekhwiya in the Qatar Stars League.

National

Aruna belonged alongside Didier Drogba of the most dangerous and most successful strikers in the Ivorian national team. Therefore, he was also nominated for the African Cup of Nations 2006. However Dindane was unable to attend due to a death in the family. At the 2006 World Cup, he played in all three group games. In the 3-2 win against Serbia and Montenegro, he stood as a replacement for the suspended Didier Drogba in the starting lineup. In this game, he scored two goals and was top scorer in the Ivorian squad.

Even with the Football World Cup 2010 Dindane was used in all three group games, but remained without a goal.

Aruna is the sibling of Aristide Bance.
