Asterix and the Cauldron

Asterix and the Cauldron ( original French title: Astérix et le Chaudron ) is the 13th Asterix band and was published in 1972 in German and 1969 in the original. The text was written by René Goscinny, Albert Uderzo 's drawings.

Action

The tribal chief Moralelastix passes the Gauls a copper kettle full of sesterces, so he must not pay Roman taxes. Asterix is ordered to guard the boiler. As is the contents of the kettle stolen, Asterix is banished from the village. So he goes on with Obelix and Idefix to fill the boiler. After a visit to a Roman camp and the stranded pirates, who have opened an inn, they try on the market of Condate to earn money by selling wild boar. Here are more unsuccessful attempts, including a racing bet, Acting and a bank robbery, until they decide to go to Moralelastix to return at least the boiler. Along the way they meet the Roman tax collector, whose money they steal. Asterix determines from the smell that the money from the tax collector is the same, which had previously been in the boiler. Moralelastix wanted to cheat the Gauls and has even stolen the money in order to pay his taxes and get the money replaced by the Gauls. A fight with Moralelastix in which the boiler falls down the cliff directly on the pirate ship. After Asterix has his honor and that of the village restored, the obligatory festival is celebrated.

Publication

The first edition of the album Le Chaudron appeared in 1969 Dargaud 13th volume of the Asterix series. The German edition of the album was in 1972 in MV Comix in Ehapa. With the 2002 reissue of the band has a new title image, which was first seen in the MV Comix spending 23/1969 bis 7/1970.
